Starting from May 6th, 2024, ISTQB® CTFL exams will be conducted based on CTFL Syllabus v4.0 by TTB. The syllabus version is displayed on the certificate, and outdated certificates will also remain valid.

The ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification is the fundamentals of basic testing knowledge. The syllabus provides a comprehensive understanding of terminology and concepts used in testing globally, making it suitable for all software delivery approaches and practices, including Waterfall, Agile, DevOps and Continuous Delivery.

The CTFL 4.0 certification is suitable for anyone who needs to demonstrate practical knowledge of the basic concepts of software testing. It applies to people in roles such as testers, test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, test managers, user acceptance testers, and software developers. It is also suitable for people who need basic knowledge of software testing, including project managers, quality managers, software development managers, business analysts, IT managers and management consultants.

CTFL certification is considered a prerequisite for all other ISTQB® certifications.
